I was born and raised in Sacramento, California and graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Political Science. I had the wonderful opportunity of spending a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain. I love traveling and wish to see as many countries as I can and explore as many cultures as possible. I received my teaching credential from CSU San Marcos in both English and Social Science, and through their terrific program, I was able to land a job in Carlsbad Unified. I subscribe to an educational philosophy of progressivism/existentialism in that I believe schools should facilitate personal growth and foster individuality. We should empower our students to reflect on their experiences and form their own opinions and identities.
